Pirates of Caribbean auction scene at Disney World changing in March 2018

The famous and controversial auction scene (“We want the Redhead”) in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at the Magic Kingdom will be changed in March 2018.

Disney previously announced the change saying it is updating the scene and instead of pirates auctioning off women, the audio-animatronic redhead character will be “joining the pirates ranks and helping the local townspeople ‘unload’ their valuables at the Mercado auction,” Disney has said.

The change is taking place at Disney World during the normal refurbishment of the ride, which will happen Feb. 26 to March 18, 2018. The ride is expected to open with the new scene on March 19.

The change will also take place at Disneyland. The scene has already been altered at Disneyland Paris.
