Warrior Games Returning to Disney World in 2027
The Department of Defense Warrior Games will return to the to Disney World in August 2027 bringing the prestigious adaptive sports competition back to Florida.
Hosted once again at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the event, from August 7-14, 2027, marks the third time Walt Disney World has served as the host site, following successful tournaments in 2022 and 2024.
The annual event celebrates the resiliency, recovery, and athletic achievement of wounded, ill, and injured active-duty service members and veterans. Nearly 200 competitors are expected to participate, representing all branches of the military—including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard, Air Force and Space Force, as well as the U.S. Special Operations Command.
Athletes will compete in 12 adaptive sports over the eight-day period, including:
- Archery
- Cycling
- Indoor Rowing
- Pickleball
- Powerlifting
- Swimming
- Track
- Wheelchair Basketball
- Wheelchair Rugby
First launched in 2010 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the Warrior Games feature military athletes recovering from visible and invisible injuries, including combat wounds, cancer, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
