New details released on Pixar Pier neighborhoods at Disneyland
More details are being released about the upcoming opening of Pixar Pier at Disney’s California Adventure on June 22, 2018, including a new “whimsical family-friendly” attraction not mentioned before.
The re-imagining of Paradise Pier into Pixar Pier brings four neighborhoods to this section of the park. Here’s the breakdown of details not released before.
Incredibles Park
Inspired by “The Incredibles,” Incredibles Park will be a plaza featuring mid-century modern design aesthetics. Guests will enter through an archway where the iconic Incredibles logo will be seen overhead. Once inside, the new Incredicoaster will take you on a thrilling race alongside the Parr family. A combination of character figures, lighting, music and special effects will bring all the action to life. The Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums stand is outside of the ride.
Toy Story Boardwalk
Adjacent to Incredibles Park, this new area will be themed to “Toy Story.” Guest favorite Toy Story Midway Mania! remains. Jessie the yodeling cowgirl’s Jessie’s Critter Carousel will open in 2019. Poultry Palace and Señor Buzz Churros is in the area to help stifle appetites.
Pixar Promenade
The focal point of Pixar Promenade will be the Pixar Pal-A-Round. The 24 gondolas on this huge Ferris wheel will feature different pairs of Pixar pals. Mickey’s iconic face will remain on the front.
Games of the Boardwalk, offering guests a chance to test their skills and win a prize will take up the remainder of the boardwalk. The games include Heimlich’s Candy Corn Toss, Wall-E Space Race, La Luna Star Catcher and Bullseye Stallion Stampede. Added to the promenade will be a classic band-shell stage for musical entertainment acts and encounters with Pixar characters.
Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff will feature confections, including saltwater taffy and rainbow cotton candy. For some savory bites, head over to Angry Dogs, where the dogs heat up as Anger from “Inside Out” burns with rage
Inside Out Headquarters
The western portion of the pier is an area inspired by “Inside Out.” This area will feature a new family-friendly attraction scheduled to open at a later day. Disney has not mentioned any more specifics on this attraction.
