Magic Kingdom Stays World’s Most-Visited Theme Park in 2025 Despite Epic Universe Debut

Disney World’s Magic Kingdom retained its title as the most-visited theme park in the world in 2025, with 17.8 million visitors, a 0.2% decrease from the year prior, virtually a flat change.

The opening of EPIC Universe changed the dynamics in Orlando, according to the newly released TEA Global Experience Index, published by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) alongside Entertainment + Culture Advisors (ECA) and The Park Database (TPDB).

The report notes the new park’s debut did not drain traffic from Disney, which experienced ).2 percent decreasse in traffic. Instead, it helped lift combined attendance across Central Florida’s leading theme parks by 4.3%.

In operation for seven months during 2025, the new park drew 4 million visitors while all other parks in Orlando experienced minor decreases compared to 2024, with Universal parks experiencing the largest decreases:

  • Universal Studios Florida down 2.1% to 9.3 million
  • Islands of Adventure down 2.6% to 9.2 million
  • EPCOT down 0.2 percent to 12.1 million
  • Hollywood Studios down 0.2 percent to 10.3 million
  • Animal Kingdom down 0.2 percent to 8.8 million

On the West Coast, the Disneyland Resort posted growth, with Disneyland Park recording 17.4 million visits, an increase of 0.4 percent, and Disney California Adventure drawing 10.1 million visits, an increase of 0.4%. Meanwhile, Universal Studios Hollywood dropped 8% to 8 million visitors, a decline attributed in the report to regional wildfire impacts affecting Southern California travel.

International theme parks experienced modest shifts. In Asia, Universal Studios Japan drew 16 million visitors, up 0.2%; Tokyo Disneyland recorded 15.2 million visits, an increase of 0.6%; and Shanghai Disneyland reached 15 million visits, an increase of 2 percent. In Europe, regional growth was highlighted by Parc Disneyland at Disneyland Paris, which rose 5.7% to 10.8 million visits.
