The massive cuts taking place at Walt Disney World now include the entertainment staff, showing the theme park has no intention of reopening any of its shows, such as favorites “Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue” or “Festival of the Lion King,” anytime soon.
The major cuts leave only one show – “For the Fitst Time n Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios- as up and running.
The entertainers cut include those for:
- “Hoo Dee-Doo Musical Revue.” which has been around since 1974, at the Campsites at Fort Wilderness
- “Festival of the Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- “Finding Nemo: The Musical” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Previously, Disney laid off the cast of Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
The cuts are part of the 28,000 employees to be laid off by Dec. 4, 2020 from the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products division at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Disney World will suffer a 20% cut in its 77,000 employee workforce. About 15,500 cast members will be laid off.
