Name of Swan and Dolphin’s new tower announced, concept art released
The new 14-story hotel being constructed at the Swan and Dolphin Resort at Walt Disney World will be named The Cove.
The name was announced during a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 27 for the new 349-room hotel.
“This is really a significant moment in the future of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort,” Fred Sawyers General Manager Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. Adding a new tower and meeting the growing demands of both the business and leisure customers made the groundbreaking “a special day.”
The Cove is being built next to the Swan Resort on the current site of the tennis courts. It is being built to meet the needs of meetings and large groups, giving planners more options, the resort has previously announced.
The new hotel will include:
- Over 22,000 square feet of meeting space, including two ballrooms, 12 meeting rooms and a rooftop reception space offering spectacular views of the nightly fireworks.
- 349 guest rooms including 151 suites featuring separate working and private spaces, built-in AV system, large conference table and other features designed to create the perfect collaboration space
- Landscaped 16,800-square-foot elevated deck with a fire pit and pool
- A 90-seat restaurant and a 50-seat lounge.
- Health club, business center, grab-and-go market, upscale craft cocktail lobby bar, Disney benefits.
The new addition will increase the resort’s inventory to 2,619 rooms. It is scheduled to be complete in 2020.
