Disney Cruise Line begins construction on fourth “Wish-Class” ship
Disney Cruise Line has officially begun construction on its fourth “Wish-class” vessel, a significant milestone marked by a ceremonial steel-cutting event at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
While the ship’s name has yet to be revealed, it will be the latest addition to the fleet that includes the Disney Wish, the upcoming Disney Treasure, and the recently announced Disney Destiny.

The celebratory steel cutting, a maritime tradition, saw a laser precisely slice a decorative piece of steel into the shape of a Disney Cruise Line ship, complete with the company’s logo. The piece was signed by representatives from Disney and the Meyer Werft shipyard, as well as Mickey Mouse himself, who was on hand for the event, according to an Instagram post by the Disney Cruise Line.

The upcoming vessel will be similar in size and layout to the other ships in its class, including the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. Its sibling ship, the Disney Destiny, is set to have its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025. This ship will feature a Heroes and Villains theme and sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. It will offer 4- and 5-night cruises to destinations in the Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
