We might have a July reopening date for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

The fan-favorite Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been closed for refurbishment since Jan 8, 2024, and now a reopening date has been placed on the official Walt Disney World calendar on July 27, 2024.

The coaster had been experiencing reliability issues in the past year, with the ride going down for hours and, at times, days. The coaster closed last year for a lengthy refurbishment, but that did not seem to solve its issues.

No theming changes took place during the refurbishment.

The attraction’s high-speed launch catapults each Limotrain to approximately 60 mph in 2.8 seconds — similar to the feeling of sitting in a supersonic jet as it blasts off from the deck of an aircraft carrier. The ride propels you 3,403 feet, which is more than a half-mile of twists, turns, loops, corkscrews, hills and dips.
