Photos: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction at Disneyland
The construction and summer opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World have everyone abuzz with anticipation. For those on the West Coast, while you will get to see what the ride looks like from the opening in Orlando, it will be a while longer before the Disneyland version is open.
How long? It is unknown. It will be in 2024, but there has been no announcement on what time of year it will open. Walt Disney World’s Splash Mountain closed on Jan. 23, 2023, while Disneyland’s Splash Mountain closed on May 31, 2023.
In the meantime, the surrounding restaurants and shops in New Orleans Square have already been given their “The Princess and the Frog” transformation.
And everyone can see how the exterior of the attraction is coming along.
Let’s take a look at how Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland is coming along (photos were taking on April 17, 2024:
Scaffolding is still plentiful around the exterior of the mountain as moss and other decorations have been installed on the newly transformed exterior.
Here, you can see Tiana’s water tower with a tiara in the front, just as it is at Walt Disney World. The two stars represent Ray, the Cajun firefly, and his romantic infatuation, Evangeline – the evening star.
The story of the ride will pick up where the film left off as guests join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis on an adventure down the bayou as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season where everyone is welcome. Along the way, guests will encounter familiar faces, make new friends, and travel through the bayou to hear original music inspired by songs from the film.
