Disney Vacation Club’s Villas at Disneyland Hotel is now open
Disneyland Resort welcomes a new addition with the grand opening of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel tower. The 12-story tower, comprising 344 guest rooms, offers an enchanting blend of classic Disney storytelling and modern comforts, all just steps away from the Disneyland Resort theme parks.
Bill Diercksen, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Disney Vacation Club, expressed his excitement, saying, “The Villas at Disneyland Hotel celebrates the remarkable legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ storytelling and the creative process these talented artists go through to bring Disney characters to life from sketch to screen.”
This newly unveiled property marks a significant milestone as it is the first dedicated Disney Vacation Club property at Disneyland Resort since the opening of The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in 2009. It also stands as the first new tower at the award-winning Disneyland Hotel since 1979.
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel boasts a range of themed accommodations suitable for families of all sizes, including duo studios, deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and multi-level grand villas. Each room pays homage to Disney films such as “The Jungle Book,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and “Fantasia.”
The official opening ceremony featured dedication remarks from Bill Diercksen and Dan Coleman, General Manager of the Disneyland Hotel, along with beloved Disney characters like Baloo, King Louie, Anna, Elsa, and Princess Tiana. The celebration was brought to a spectacular close with a performance of the new Disney Vacation Club anthem, “Where We Belong (Welcome Home),” by Disney on Broadway actress Kissy Simmons.
The newly imagined duo studios, inspired by “The Jungle Book,” are perfect for two guests. They feature a split bathroom with themed tile accents and a queen-size bed that conveniently tucks into the wall to reveal a sofa when not in use. For larger groups of up to four guests, the deluxe studios celebrate the timeless tales of “Sleeping Beauty” or “The Princess and the Frog” and include a kitchenette, split bathroom, and two queen-size beds.
One- and two-bedroom villas offer roomier accommodations, with options for up to five and nine guests, respectively. These villas include a full-size kitchen, comfortable sofa seating, and spacious en-suite bathrooms inspired by “The Princess and the Frog” or “Fantasia.” The three-bedroom grand villas offer multi-level accommodations for up to 12 guests, featuring a full-size kitchen, large dining area, double-sided fireplace, and themed bedrooms inspired by “Bambi,” “Frozen,” and “Moana.”
Upon entering the lobby, guests are greeted by an exclusive mural created by renowned Disney Animation artist Lorelay Bové, known for her work on films like “The Princess and the Frog” and “Encanto.” Walt Disney Imagineers drew inspiration from the animators’ storytelling process to design accommodations that immerse guests in the magic of creativity, from color palettes based on animation stills to concept art.
The Palette Pool area, a brand-new addition, provides a relaxing oasis with a palette-shaped swimming pool and the Palm Breeze Bar (opening later this season). The outdoor space is adorned with decor inspired by Disney Legend Mary Blair’s distinctive artistry. Kids can also enjoy the “Steamboat Willie” splash pad, complete with waterfalls, fountains, and misty fog effects.
Guests staying at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel can take advantage of its ideal location, just steps away from Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and the Downtown Disney District.
With the grand opening of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel tower, Disney Vacation Club now boasts 16 properties across four states.
