PHOTOS: Update on EPCOT construction at front of the park
Earlier this week, Disney officially announced that the multi-year EPCOT construction work will be complete by the end of 2023. A look from above by photographer bioreconstruct shows the ongoing transformation.
Let’s first start with the photos below. The photo on the left is a recent aerial photo by bioreconstuct and the photo on the right is the artist rendering of what the area behind Spaceship Earth looks like. You can use the slider to go back and forth and to compare.
Let’s start from the left and go clockwise on the EPCOT construction. On the left is CommuniCore Hall. It will be the center of festival programming throughout the park. It will be home to a new character greeting location called Mickey & Friends.
CommuniCore Hall will also be the home of a dynamic exhibition space that will transform with each festival throughout the year, and there will be a place for giant outdoor performances. as well as small, intimate experiences. Above that is
Guests will be able to explore the wonders of water when Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. Guests will walk through the exploration trail, engaging with water in multiple ways. It’s going to start with the birth of water, as rain, as it comes down to our Earth through our streams and rivers, to our oceans, and back to the skies by engaging and playing with water.
Straight ahead in front of the concrete area near Spaceship Earth is Dreamer’s Point where there will be a statue of Walt Disney.
All around will be gardens and in the center of the gardens is the EPCOT symbol.
