‘Encanto’ sweeps Grammy awards, here’s all the Disney songs, soundtracks that have won

“Encanto” swept al all three visual media categories at the Grammy awards Sunday, Feb. 5,, the first time this has happened in the 24 years since the compilation-soundtrack category was added in 1999.

While one film has won two of the three categories eight times, this is the first time a movie was the won Best Score Soundtrak for Visual Media, Best Song Written Specifically for Motion Picture or for Television and Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Lin-Manuel Miranda won for the the song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” which bea out Beyonce (“Be Alive”), Taylor Swift (“Carolina”), Lady Gaga (“Hold My Hand,” a current Oscar nominee), Billie Eilish (“Nobody Like U”) and Jessy Wilson (“Keep Rising”).

The win now brings the total number of Grammy awards it has received for songs and soundtracks to 31, this does include all of John Williams wins for Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark and Elton John’s 1994 win for his performance of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”  from “The Lion King.”
