2017 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival dates announced, expands to 75 days

Disney World is expanding not only the number of days the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will be held this year, but also the number of food and marketplaces.

The festival, which started in 1996, will add 13 days, bringing the total length of the festival to 75, from Aug. 31 to Nov. 13, 2017, according to a Disney news release.

The number of marketplaces are also increasing by two to 35. The new marketplaces will be announced this summer. in addition, India and Spain marketplaces will return. For a third year, the marketplaces will extend into the Future World area of Epcot, similar to what has been going on with the Arts and Flower & Garden festivals, the release stated.

In addition to the marketplaces Disney also stated:

  • The three times nightly Eat to the Beat concerts return at the America Gardens Theatre stage.
  • “Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It!” hands-on workshops, which debuted in 2016 at the Festival Center, return with new opportunities to interact with visiting chefs, bakers, mixologists and other pros. 
  • Popular TV chefs and other culinary icons will appear.
  • A Ratatouille-inspired adventure will return as Chef Remy gives families a chance to play together during this culinary scavenger hunt.
  • The complimentary Back to Basics Festival Center weekend series will share epicurean tips and tricks from the pros. Book and bottle signings by some of the world’s top vintners will be scheduled,
  • Culinary Demonstrations and Beverage Seminars will offer daily learning and tasting opportunities at the Festival Center. On select Saturdays, Cheese Seminars will be held.
  • Party for the Senses grand tasting events will return.
  • Resort premium events will include a Grand Floridian Brunch with a Twist and Culinary Adventures with a Master Chef.
  • Specialty Dining and Pairing events will be available as well.
Disney World will make announcements over the summer on specific food events to take place.
