Disney World is pulling out all the stops for the grand opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar this week.
The new land is scheduled to officially open to the public on May 27, but just a few days before Disney plans to live stream
a special dedication moment at Animal Kingdom on May 24, 2017, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
The live stream will take place at 9:25 a.m. ET on May 24. No other information has been provided as to who might be there, but it might make sense to have James Cameron, the creator of the Avatar movies and the characters the new land is being based on, attend the festivities.
In addition, rockstar Imganieer Joe Rohde, who has been involved with the creation of the land, is another good candidate to appear.
Pandora opens with the two new rides, Avatar Flight of Passage, which will allow guests to fly on a banshee over the world of Pandora, and the Na’vi River Journey, which will send guests down a mystical river hidden within a bioluminescent rainforest.
