10 big entertainment cuts taking place at Disney World in October

There are a number of major entertainment changes coming to Walt Disney World this October and it includes reduction in performances and days for some entertainment and the elimination of a couple of fan favorite shows.

The two biggest changes will be the end of The Muppets Present Great Moments in American History in the Magic Kingdom and the popular Burudika Band, which performs at Harambe Village in Animal Kingdom.

Fans have started Twitter campaigns to try and save both, using #SaveTheMuppets and #SaveBurudika.

Here’s a look at the changes coming:

The Muppets Present Great Moments in American History – at Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom – will have its last performance on Sept. 30, 2019. The show is three years old, it started on Oct. 2, 2016. At the time it looked as though Disney was finally able to find more places for this franchise in the parks.

The Royal Majesty Makers, retired knight Sir Sterling, his clever niece Bridget, squire Tobias and the kind Lady Llewellyn, perform at the Prince Charming Regal Carousel in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. They are the official ambassadors to Cinderella’s court. The last performance will be on Sept. 30.

The ‘Move It! Shake It! Dance and Play It!’ Street Party returns after Sept. 30, once the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party ends due to the conclusion of the Mickey Mouse Celebration. But when it, returns, it will only be coming down Main Street, U.S.A., at the Magic Kingdom to only twice a day.

• The recently opened Lightning McQueens’ Pit Crew dance party at Hollywood Studios closes on Sept. 30.

• The popular Burudika Band, which performs in Harambe Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will have its last performance on Oct. 12.

The  “Mariachi Cobre Presents… The Story of Coco” at the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot will end by Sept. 30. The Mariachi Cobre will continue to perform.

The JAMMitors, the percussion band that plays on garbage cans in Future World in Epcot, will have their performances reduced to just five days a week, Thursdays to Mondays, stating on Oct. 1.

Matsuriza, the traditional Japanese drummers who perform in front of the Japan Pavilion in Epcot, will have their performances reducing to Thursday to Mondays, starting on Oct. 1.

• The limited-time Incredibles Super Shindig at Hollywood Studios ends on Sept. 30.

Hakuna Matata Time, the limited-time dance party at Disney’s Animal Kingdom ends on Sept. 30.
