3 major events kick off Aug. 29 at Walt Disney World Resort

There are three events kicking off tomorrow, Aug. 29, 2019, at the Walt Disney World Resort that will have major impact on everyone who is vacationing.

Here’s a look at the three:

1. Opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: This is the most obvious one. The long-awaited Star Wars Land is opening to the public at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and everyone want to get in. The park will open starting at 6 a.m. for everyone on Aug. 29, 30 and 31.

2. Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicks off: Food. Glorious Food. Labor Day weekend kicks off with the feast for the stomach. The annual food festival takes place Aug. 29 through Nov. 3, 2019. That is 87 days of the festival, the longest ever. It will have 33 different marketplaces, an Eat to the Beat Concert series and a number of various seminars.

3. Extra Extra Magic Hours Begin: Yes, there are now an expanded Extra Magic Hour benefit for those guests staying at Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels. Most of them begin on Aug. 29 and last through Nov. 2. s expansion of this benefit appears to be another method Disney is using to manage the large crowds anticipated to come with the opening of the new land.

The breakdown is as follows:

Animal Kingdom: The Extra Magic Hours will be daily from 7 to 8 a.m., from Aug. 29 through Nov. 2,  featuring Pandora – The World of Avatar and other attractions throughout the park.

Magic Kingdom: The Extra Magic Hours will take place daily from 7 to 8 a.m., from Aug. 29 through Nov. 2, featuring attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Hollywood Studios: The Extra Magic Hours will be daily from 6 to 9 a.m. from Sept. 1 through Nov. 2, featuring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land and other select attractions.
