Disneyland unveils float design for 2016 Rose Parade
As part of its 60th anniversary, Disneyland will be again participate in the Rose Parade with a float.
Disney’s relationship with the Tournament of Roses began in 1938 when characters from the newly premiered “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” were prominently featured in the parade.
This year’s float is a recreation of Sleeping Beauty Castle, with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse welcoming everyone to the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, according to Disney. On either side of the float is the world of “Frozen,” with Elsa’s ice castle, Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff and Star Wars.
The Rose Parade, which started 1890 by Pasadena’s Valley Hunt Club, will be broadcast live on Jan. 1, 2016.
