PHOTOS: Iowa and Stanford football teams visit Disneyland before Rose Bowl Game

Normally, teams and players go to Disneyland after winning a major event, but not this time.

No. 5 Iowa and No. 6 Stanford, who will face off in the 2016 Rose Bowl Game on Jan. 1, 2016, visited California Adventure at Disneyland on Dec. 26.

©Disney publicity photo The No. 5 CFP-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes, champions of the Big Ten West  Division, and the No. 6 CFP-ranked Stanford Cardinal, champions of the  Pac-12 Conference,  made their first official appearances of the Rose Bowl  Game week during a ceremony at Disney California Adventure.

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, Stanford head coach David Shaw and members of both teams appeared at a ceremony with Disneyland Resort President Michael Colglazier and Mickey Mouse.

The Stanford Cardinal are the Pac-12 Conference Champions, and the Iowa Hawkeyes are the Big Ten West Division Champions.

For Stanford, this will be the third time in four years and the 15th appearance all-time in the Rose Bowl Game. Iowa will make its sixth appearance overall in the Rose Bowl Game, and the first since 1991. The two teams have never met in a football game in the schools’ history.

In addition to the two coaches, Stanford players, Quarterback Kevin Hogan, Corner Back Ronnie Harris and Running Back Christian McCaffrey as well as Iowa players, Defensive Back Jordan Lomax, Wide Receiver Tevaun Smith and Running Back Jordan Canzeri visited the park.
