Rapper, entrepreneur Spectacular Blue Smith charged with punching Disney World cast member after COVID-19 joke
Recording artist and entrepreneur Spectacular Blue Smith is charged with allegedly punching a Walt Disney World cast member who tried to stop Smith after he fake sneezed and joked about the coronavirus, according to various reports.
Smith was visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Dec. 1 when he walked passed a cast member and allegedly pretended to sneeze before saying, “coronavirus,” a police report states.
The cast member told authorities he told Smith that wasn’t funny. Smith allegedly said he thought it was.
The cast member then asked Smith to leave the line twice. After Smith refused, the cast member allegedly put his arm out to stop Smith from moving.
At that point, Smith allegedly punched the employee on the right side of the face. According to TMZ, police said Smith’s son said his father lost his balance falling to the ground when trying to duck under the cast member’s arm and when he reached out to grab something he accidently punched the worker on his face.
The cast member suffered a concussion, according to authorities.
Smith was charged with battery.
Smith is part of the rap group Pretty Ricky with his brothers he went on to found Adwizar, a company that manages and monetizes social media accounts. He is also mastermind behind the viral sensation Grumpy Cat.
