New space restaurant at Epcot to open in late 2019

The new space-themed table-service restaurant at Epcot will open later in 2019, Disney announced today.

The restaurant is next to Misson: Space. The concept is that is a restaurant floating in space. Think of it as if the the International Space Station was turned into a restaurant, but there is a gravity and its more spacious.

Upon entering the building you head to the departure lobby to check in. From there you enter one of two transportation chambers which “launch you” to the space station.

The restaurant will seat about 350 people and features a 250-foot long digital screen wrapping around the wall showing off the views of space.

Just like the space station, the crew will be international. “Like in the real International Space Station, represent your country in this restaurant. We will recruit European candidates which role will be to make the guests feel like they are in space,” according to the job description for staff.
