Magic Kingdom is still the most popular theme park in the world
The Magic Kingdom remains the most attended theme park in the world with over 20 million people visiting in 2015, according to the latest report from the 2015 Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and AECOM.
All but three of the Disney theme parks around the world saw attendance increase in 2015. Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Sea and Hong Kong Disneyland had decreases of -4 percent, -3.5 percent and -9.3 percent.
Disney World as a whole increased about 4.7 percent and John Robinett, senior vice president, economics of America of TEA said in the annual report TEA expects to see “Disney realize many opportunities to satisfy guests over the next few years as Star Wars attractions, Star Wars lands and Star Wars character interactions unfold — and even before that happens, they’re making the most of the anticipation with walk-throughs, stage shows, Jedi training camp and, naturally, retail — plenty of retail.”
