
Pixar announces new original film – ‘Onward’
Pixar will be using a couple of Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes in its newest original film – “Onward” – scheduled for release in 2020.
Chris Pratt (Star-Lord from “Guardians of the Galaxy”) and Tom Holland (Spider-Man) were announced as part of the cast that will include Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep”) and Octavia Spencer (“The Shape of Water”).
The movie is directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae, the team behind “Monsters University.”
“Chris (Pratt) brings equal parts huge heart and fantastic humor to his character,” Rae said. She is also enthused about Spencer, “Octavia can do it all. We’re especially excited about the depth as well as humor that she brings to her character.”
“Tom (Holland) has an infectious charm and sincerity that makes you root for him in every character he plays, Scanlon said. He added, “There is no one funnier than Julia, but she also brings a warmth and loving side to her character.”
According to Pixar, the movie is set in a suburban fantasy world and introduces two teenage elf brothers who head on a quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out in the world. The film was inspired by Scanlon’s relationship with his brother. “At
