New overpass at Magic Kingdom opens
The new overpass at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World has opened, in an attempt to relieve congestion in the auto toll area.
This also comes with new signage and some changes in how to approach the toll plaza. It used to be that when driving toward the Magic Kingdom you would always stay in the left-hand lane and you would now have a problem.
Now, the left lanes head to the new flyway to extend World Drive and head to the resort area. This $65 million project is geared to ease congestion around the plaza.
You would continue to stay in the right land when approaching the plaza to head for Fort Wilderness.
Here is the breakdown:

Drivers heading Magic Kingdom-area resorts, Disney University, Center Drive: If you are going to the area resorts, including the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Polynesian Village Resort, Contemporary Resort, and Wilderness Lodge), Disney University and Center Drive drivers should remain in the left lanes to continue straight on northbound World Drive across the new overpass.
Drivers heading to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground: Stay in the right-hand lanes and exit from the right lane on to Vista Boulevard.
Drivers heading to the Magic Kingdom Park: Head toward the auto plaza. Follow appropriate roadway signage and exercise caution when driving around this area.
