Disney fans will soon be able to start their day with a Moana tropical cereal

General Mills is bringing a taste of the Pacific Islands to the breakfast table this summer. In a new collaboration with Disney, the cereal giant has announced the launch of Tropical Trix featuring Disney’s Moana, a fruit-forward cereal inspired by the hit animated franchise.

The new offering is part of a dual summer launch alongside Lucky Charms Unicorn Cotton Candy. While the Lucky Charms variety leans into whimsical “enchanted” marshmallow shapes, the Moana partnership is designed to transport fans directly to the Hawaiian Islands through a refreshing, tropical flavor profile.

Beyond the entertainment tie-in, this launch marks a significant milestone in General Mills’ “clean label” initiative. Both the Moana cereal and the new Lucky Charms are made with colors from natural sources, reflecting a major shift away from synthetic dyes.

The timing of the Moana cereal is no coincidence. General Mills is currently on a high-speed track to remove all certified colors from its U.S. cereal portfolio by summer 2026.

The company recently reached a major goal by eliminating synthetic dyes from its entire K-12 school foods portfolio ahead of schedule. The Moana release serves as a “real-world” test of this strategy, proving that vibrant, kid-friendly cereals can still be visually appealing using plant- and mineral-derived pigments.

Fans can find Tropical Trix featuring Disney’s Moana at retailers nationwide starting this summer, just in time to fuel up for the next wave of Disney adventures.
