What to Expect When The Muppets Take Over Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster on May 26

The Muppets and The Electric Mayhem are officially taking over the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster on May 26 at Disney World – can you picture that?

Starting May 26, guests will trade Aerosmith’s classic riffs for a rock-charged remix as they board a “L.I.M.O.” and launch into a high-speed race through Hollywood alongside Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips are ready to rock the house – and everyone who’s anyone will be there.

Disney is touting that the reimagined attraction blends the high-speed intensity fans love with the chaotic, colorful heart of the Muppets. The one thing everyone should remember is that the actual ride remains the same. No changes have been made to the track or the ride; the inversions remain.

The transformation begins before guests even enter the building. The attraction’s iconic, towering red guitar marquee is getting a psychedelic makeover. Inspired by the Electric Mayhem’s classic paint jobs, the guitar will feature vibrant patterns and a golden piano key at its base—a subtle “tip of the hat” to the band’s legendary leader, Dr. Teeth.

The legendary G-Force Records has officially changed hands. In a move that bridges Muppet lore with the theme park experience, the studio is now owned by J.P. Grosse, the real estate tycoon, owner of the Muppet Theatre, and uncle to the Muppets’ frantic stage manager, Scooter.

Inside the queue, the “Star-Studded Halls of Rock” will feature career-spanning posters of the band and a massive lineup of celebrity cameos. Guests should keep their eyes peeled for appearances by stars like “Weird Al” Yankovic, Travis Barker, Danny Trejo, Awkwafina, Darren Criss, John Stamos, Neil Patrick Harris, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Wayne Brady, who show up in various forms from the pre-show to the exit gift shop.

The heart of the new experience lies in the recording studio where the pre-show takes place. For the first time ever, guests will encounter a state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronic Scoote. As the band jams out to “Can You Picture That?”, Scooter and a team of audio-engineer penguins are tasked with the impossible: getting the distracted band to their concert on time.

To solve the traffic crisis, Muppet Labs has stepped in. Guests will board the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.)—a super-powered vehicle designed to get the VIPs to the show across town at breakneck speeds.

The 0-to-60 mph launch remains, as does the height requirement, which is 48 inches, but the soundtrack has been completely overhauled. Disney revealed a high-energy set list featuring The Electric Mayhem collaborating with some of the biggest names in music:

  • Song 2 – The Electric Mayhem
  • Born To Be Wild – The Electric Mayhem ft. Camilla the Chicken
  • Love Rollercoaster – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove
  • Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
