Harambe Market Opening to Prevent Dining Gap at Animal Kingdom
In a move to ensure zero downtime for popular dining options, Harambe Market will begin an early “soft opening” phase on Feb. 2. This early return comes just ahead of its official full-scale reopening on Feb. 5, bridging the gap as major closures take effect elsewhere in the park.
The accelerated timeline to reopen the dining area is a strategic response to the permanent closure of DinoLand U.S.A. The final day of operation for Restaurantosaurus and the DINOSAUR attraction is Feb. 1, leaving the park in immediate need of a high-capacity replacement for fan-favorite staples.
While the official calendar lists Feb. 5 as the start of full operations, the Feb. 2 soft opening allows the location to ramp up service. Guests visiting during this early window should be aware of a few operational adjustments:
- Limited Capacity: The market will initially accommodate a smaller number of guests as the staff adjusts to the revamped layout.
- No Mobile Order: Guests should plan for traditional walk-up service, as Mobile Order is expected to be unavailable during the initial soft opening period (Feb 2–4).
- Seamless Transition: Because Harambe Market opens the morning after Restaurantosaurus closes, there will be no days without burgers and chicken strips available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
