Buckle Up! Test Track reopens July 22 with high-tech makeover
Get ready to buckle up for an exhilarating summer at EPCOT. Disney World today announced the beloved Test Track presented by General Motors will officially reopen on July 22, following a significant refurbishment that promises an all-new experience for guests.
The reimagined Test Track will feature an all-new musical score and captivating new scenes that delve into the cutting-edge technology shaping the future of automobiles. One of the most anticipated additions is a scene that allows guests to “see through the ‘eyes’ of a vehicle.” Utilizing over 29,000 points of light, Walt Disney Imagineers have created a visually stunning representation of how advanced cameras and sensors allow vehicles to perceive their surroundings.

The attraction has always celebrated automotive innovation and this update also emphasizes the timeless joy of a road trip – the quality time spent with friends and family amidst the beauty of the world.
Crews are currently adding the “finishing touches” to the attraction, ensuring it’s “green light ready” for its grand reopening. Disney also hinted at exclusive special previews for Cast Members, Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, Golden Oak residents, and Club 33 Members in the weeks leading up to the official July 22 launch.
The first version of Test Track replaced World of Motion, which showcased the evolution of transportation and operated from October 1982 through January 1996. Test Track debuted in 1999 and was originally sponsored by General Motors. In December 2012, Chevrolet took over the sponsorship of the attraction with a new pre-show area where you can design your own car.
