Video: 2024 Frozen Holiday Surprise debuts at Magic Kingdom
The Frozen Holiday Surprise that transforms Cinderella Castle into a shimmering crystalized palace debuted earlier than expected last night, Nov. 5, at Magic Kingdom. And we have the full video below of the Frozen Holiday Surprise.
This show replaces what was called “Frozen Holiday Wish Castle Lighting” with the hundreds of lights draped on Cinderella Castle with 32,000 square feet of fishing net supporting 200,000 LED lights making the castle look as if it was covered in ice. Instead of the LED lights, projection mapping is now used to transform the castle with the assistance of some lasers and some pyrotechnics.
The lights, which debuted in 2007, were originally part of the nightly “Cinderella’s Holiday Wish” show which later became “A Frozen Holiday Wish.”
The show, “Frozen Holiday Surprise” features Olaf and over 100 of his snowgie siblings adding garlands, ornaments, wreaths and more to Cinderella Castle. Next, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff appear on stage with Olaf—all decked out in their holiday best. The festivities culminate as Elsa adds the finishing touches with her ice magic, transforming Cinderella Castle into a shimmering crystallized palace.
The show takes place at 6:15 p.m. now daily through Sunday, Dec. 29. Additional 8:15 p.m. performances are scheduled during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
