Disney provides closer look at Mama Odie Audio-Animatronic
Disney Imagineers provided us all with a closer look at the new Mama Odie Audio-Animatronic figure coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure this summer at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and later to Disneyland.
Actress and singer Jenifer Lewis, who provides the voice of Mama Odie in the film “The Princess and the Frog,” stopped in to meet the Audio-Animatronic figure. Lewis reprises her role for the attraction.
The attraction is set to open this summer, but no specific date has yet been announced. There are rumors that it might open in June or July, which makes sense since this is a water ride. The story of the ride will pick up where the film left off as guests join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis on an adventure down the bayou as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season where everyone is welcome. Along the way, guests will encounter familiar faces, make new friends, and travel through the bayou to hear original music inspired by songs from the film.
During the past few weeks Disney has introduced us to the numerous Audio-Animatronics that will be seen in the ride, including frogs, bears, turtles, beavers, rabbits and more ho will be playing music. This include Zydeco musicians, Rara musicians and Afro Cuban musicians.
