Serena Williams: ‘I’m going to Disney World!’
Serena Williams is going to celebrate the end of her storied tennis career and the start of her next chapter at Disney World.
As Williams left the court at the US Open last month—likely the last tournament of her storied career— she was asked what she’s going to do next. As so many illustrious athletes have done before, she turned to the TV cameras and jubilantly shouted, “I’m going to Disney World!”
The moment has been turned into a TV commercial that began airing today celebrating Williams’ impact both on and off the court, as well as her unique style and flair. Disney says she will have a “fun-filled celebration” at Disney World — “an unforgettable day highlighted by beloved Disney characters, toe-tapping entertainment and a festive atmosphere befitting one of the greatest eras in sports.”
When? Disney will only say it will be “in the coming weeks.”
