Space 220 restaurant at EPCOT will launch in mid-September
The long-awaited opening of the Space 220 restaurant in EPCOT will take place in mid-September, Disney announced today.
Adjacent to Mission: SPACE, the new dining experience will make it seem like you are 220 miles above the Earth in the Centauri Space Station. Inside the dining area, you’ll experience a panoramic view of Earth below, and a variety of work and leisure activities taking place beyond the windows of the Space Station-themed restaurant.
The restaurant, which will seat about 350 people, features a 250-foot long digital screen wrapping around the wall showing off daytimes and nighttime views of space.
The menu, created by Executive Chef Marc Kusche, will feature a two-course prix fixe menu for lunch, and a three-course prix fixe menu for dinner. Rounding out the meal will be unique beverages – from fine wine to atmospheric cocktails and more.
To get to the restaurant you will need to board one of two “Space Elevators” that will transport you to the dining area. That experience is inspired by the Hydrolators that were used in the old The Living Seas Pavilion to take guests down to Sea Base Alpha.
No specific date has yet been announced, nor when reservations will become available.
