Disney World testing fireworks at EPCOT

Guests staying near EPCOT have reported hearing music and some fireworks testing taking place, now we have another instance of fireworks testing with the following video from David Mitchell

Disney has been preparing for the new “Harmonious” nighttime show with the five floating platforms on the World Showcase Lagoon. Positioned like a compass, these platforms house the primary show equipment for “Harmonious,” and on the recently-placed center platform stands a six-story-tall central ring structure, supporting a high-density water curtain, moving lights and fountains. During the day, the platforms will create a fountain effect.

It is unknown if the fireworks testing is to see how the new platforms are working, whether it is for the new Harmonious show, or the current EPCOT Forever show. Guests have reported that they have previously heard music from EPCOT Forever playing.

There is no timetable as to when the nighttime shows will return to EPCOT, or fireworks to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

Disney is slowly starting to roll back physical distance markers and plexiglass separations on rides to increase capacity. Face coverings are optional outdoors but are required as soon as guests enter attraction queues.
