Disney on Broadway’s 25th anniversary streaming benefit concert back on for April 17
The Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ streaming benefit concert celebrating Disney on Broadway’s 25th anniversary is back on.
The show will stream Friday, April 17, 2020, on BroadwayWorld.com at 7 p.m. EDT and will raise money for Broadway Cares’ COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund, which is helping everyone in the theater and performing arts community impacted by the pandemic.
Originally scheduled to be shown on April 13, the stream was canceled after Broadway Cares and the American Federation of Musicians could not reach an agreement on the playback. The union leadership finally agreed to waive any additional fees.
Ryan McCartan will host the stream live from his family’s home and will interview special Disney on Broadway stars, from their homes, throughout the evening.
