Opening dates announced for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the second big attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, will open first at Walt Disney World and then Disneyland, Disney announced today.
The ride will open on Dec. 5, Walt Disney’s birthday, at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World and then on Jan. 17, 2020 in Disneyland.
Disney and Star Wars fans are still waiting for the Disney World version of the 14-acre land to open Aug. 29 with the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, where you get to fly the ship.
When Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens it will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.
Disneyland’s version of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened on May 31.
