James Cameron says new Disney attraction will be called ‘Pandora: The Land of Avatar,’ report says

James Cameron told an audience that the new area at Animal Kingdom in Disney World will be called “Pandora: The Land of Avatar,” slashfilm.com reports.

Scheduled to open in 2017, the area will have “floating mountains” and advanced animatronics, slash film.com reported Cameron’s comments from the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex Film Festival.

The area will simulate a rain forest and include a number of rides and other attractions. Cameron said has has been working with Disney Imagineers on the development of the land.

The opening of the area would take place between the release of Avatar 2 and Avatar 3.
