9 aerial photos of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge construction – Dec. 2018

We are a little less than a year away before the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World and a look from above makes it seem like there is a lot left to do.

While the new Star Wars land is scheduled to open at Disneyland in summer 2019, the Hollywood Studios version at Disneyland is scheduled for late fall. And let’s remember that falls technically lasts until Dec. 21 in 2019.

The land will have full size replicas of X-wing fighters, feature a toy store that sells toys from far away places, a bar that sells various types of colored milk to drink, and the entire space port area will have a feel that there is danger at every turn.

This immersive 14-acre area is being built on the  planet of Batuu, where Star Wars characters and their stories will come to life. The main entrance to the area is from the new Grand Avenue area of Hollywood Studios. Another entrance will be from the new Toy Story Land.

Two major attractions anchor the new land. On one ride you fly the Millennium Falcon on an adventure. The second attraction puts you in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
