New info released about new Star Wars land coming to Disneyland, Disney World
The names for the new attractions at the coming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land at Hollywood Studios in Disney World and in Disneyland have been announced by Bob Chapek, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman.
The new 14-acre land will include two attractions. The first is called Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and will put guests behind the controls of the Millennium. Each crew of four will have specific tasks and one of three missions.
The second attraction will be called Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. In this attraction you are part of the Resistance and get into a battle with the First Order.
Your actions on the attractions could have consequences, Chapek said during D23’s Destination D 2018 presentation at Disney World. For example if you do not complete the mission on the Millenium Falcon you might have bounty hunters searching for you, Chapek said.
These types of special interactions will be available in he Play Disney Parks app. The app will allows guests to live their own Star Wars stories.
A large part of Star Wars has always been the music of John Williams. And Disney was able to get the Oscar-winning composer Williams to create new and original Star Wars themes exclusively for the land.
