All the details for Pixar Fest kicking off April 13 at Disneyland

Pixar is coming in force to the Disneyland Resort starting April 13 with the launch of Pixar Fest. The festival, which lasts through Sept. 3, 2018, features a new nighttime spectacular, the return of two fan-favorite parades and new Pixar experiences.

There will be new experiences happening in both Disneyland and California Adventure, including the opening of a newly re-themed Pixar Pier in California Adventure on June 23.

So, let’s get things started. Here’s a look at all the is coming:

Debuting with Pixar Fest on April 13, 2018, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” will celebrate Pixar stories through the decades as it lights up the sky over Disneyland Park. Along with dazzling pyrotechnics and memorable music, a heartwarming story celebrates the theme of friendship, an ever-present concept in Pixar animation, connecting guests with characters they’ve come to know and love.

New “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular”

Pixar stories come to life with the help of pyrotechnics and immersive projections at four Disneyland locations: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Rivers of America, “it’s a small world” and Main Street, U.S.A. Guests who watch from all four locations will enjoy a different experience each time. Theshow will even have Buzz Lightyear and the house from “Up” flying over Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Special Pixar-inspired treats

Food, wonderful food, glorious food. Disney is using Pixar characters and their stories as inspiration for some of the following tasty bites:

“Up”

  • Fried Bologna Sandwich – Carnation Café, Disneyland park
  • Pork Chop TV Dinner – Carnation Café, Disneyland park
  • “Up” Merit Badge Éclair – Jolly Holiday Bakery Café, Disneyland park
  • Nutella Pastry with Chocolate Fredrickson House & Balloons – Capuccino Cart, Disneyland park

“Toy Story”

  • Root Beer Float Served in a Souvenir Woody’s Boot – Golden Horseshoe, Disneyland park
  • Berry Funnel Cake (House-made funnel cake topped with blueberries, strawberries, chocolate cookie crumbles, crème anglaise, white chocolate, and gold-dusted whipped cream) – Stage Door Café, Disneyland park
  • Strawberry Funnel Cake (Strawberry-cherry topping, strawberry butter and streusel, with spiced syrup drizzle) – Hungry Bear Restaurant, Disneyland park
  • Strawberry Churro – Tomorrowland, Disneyland park

“Coco”

  • Cocoa Churro (Chocolate and vanilla bean dust and salted cinnamon sugar served with a spiced Mexican chocolate dipping sauce) – Frontierland, Disneyland park

Paint the Night returns

The popular “Paint the Night” parade returns April 13 and in June a  new float featuring “The Incredibles” will be added.  This time the parade will take place at California Adventure.

Pixar Play Parade returns

The Pixar Play Parade returns, this time in Disneyland with three new parade story elements. This time it returns April 13, 2018, at Disneyland and will start off with the iconic Pixar Lamp. Ahead of the lamp will be the famous yellow Pixar Ball.

Also joining the parade will be the characters from “Up.” Wilderness Explorer Russell with the colorful flightless bird, Kevin, and  Carl Fredricksen and Dug following behind amid green foliage and snipe chicks, with Carl’s tethered house floating above.

 Characters from “Inside Out” will also be joining the parade.  Perched atop colorful memory orbs, Joy and Sadness take flight aboard Bing Bong’s rocket wagon, with Bing Bong himself.

Pixar Shorts film festival

Pixar Shorts will be appearing on the big screen at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land in California Adventure. During Pixar Fest, the theater will be rotating shorts such as “For the Birds” and “Lava.”

Pizza Plant lands

Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port at Disneyland is being transformed into Alien Pizza Planet for Pixar Fest, from April 13 to Sept. 3, 2018. The three-eyed Aliens from Disney-Pixar’s “Toy Story” ” have sourced the finest ingredients from across the universe to deliver fresh, hot pizzas that are out of this world.

Pixar photo ops

Photo opportunities can even go to infinity and beyond when guests express their Pixar style through character-inspired outfits. Guest will find photo-worthy locations such as Pixar-themed topiaries in Downtown Disney and encounters with their favorite Pixar characters throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks.

Pixar shopping

How can you have a festival with no new merch? That is not the Disney way. There will be tons of exclusive new merchandise, including a Pixar Fest charm bracelet with multiple bracelet options and a variety of charms with fun friendship messages and favorite Pixar characters.

Pixar Pier

Opening June 23, Pixar Pier will be a newly transformed land at Disney California Adventure featuring four neighborhoods representing beloved Pixar stories with newly themed attractions, food and merchandise. Also opening June 23, the Incredicoaster will be a super combination of character figures, lighting and special effects that bring the action to life as the Parr family races alongside guests in an attempt to catch baby Jack-Jack.
