Aerial Photos: A look at the new Star Wars land at Disney World

The opening of the new Star Wars land at Disney World is still over a year away, but sections of the 14-acre area at Hollywood Studios are taking shape.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be an immersive area. Guest go to the planet of Batuu where Star Wars characters and their stories will come to life. The main entrance to the area is from the new Grand Avenue area of Hollywood Studios. Another entrance will be from the new Toy Story Land, scheduled to open this summer.

Two major attractions anchor the new land. On one ride you fly the Millennium Falcon on an adventure. The second attraction puts you in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

The land at Disney World is scheduled to open in the summer of 2019. The version at Disneyland should open sooner in 2019 since construction started sooner.
