Video: Disney releases rare aerial footage of Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World released a this promotional video of rare aerial footage of Magic Kingdom taken in 2024 using both drones and helicopters.
The reason this is considered rare is because there is still a no fly zone around parts of Disney World and specifically over Magic Kingdom. No one is allowed to fly from the surface up to 3,000 feet above the ground within a 3-nautical mile radius. So, as long as aircraft are above 3,000 feet off the ground, they are good to fly right over Disney World.
The no-fly zone doesn’t apply to aircraft operated by the Department of Defense, law enforcement, or air ambulance flight operations. Even Walt Disney World needs an approved waiver to conduct their own flights.
The video specifically shows Main Street, USA, Cinderella Castle, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, views of Happily Ever After fireworks show, Cinderella Castle at night, Tron Lightcycle Run and Space Mountain.
The last time we saw these types of images is from photos taken from an airplane by our favorite aerial photographer @bioreconstruct, who went to the skies in 2019 to photograph the construction that was taking place and more great views of the Magic Kingdom.
