Tron canopy at Magic Kingdom is nearing completion
The final placement of the white canopy on the new Tron ride coming to Magic Kingdom at Disney World is nearing completion. One structure is covered and workers are finishing up work on the second structure.
The canopy is a “classic polymer that is blown up with air, ” Disney Imagineers said earlier in the process.
The canopy flows over the track serves as a digital bridge and transition into The Grid. There is a pattern that will be able to be seen when riding the attraction at night, Disney earlier said.
The new coaster being built in Tomorrowland next to Space Mountain is based on Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run. Guests will board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles that will take them inside and outside the attraction’s building, reaching speeds of nearly 60 miles. The ride lasts about two minutes. No opening date for Magic Kingdom has been announced.
Here is a look at the artist’s rendering of the new ride and you can see what the final white canopy is supposed to look like.
