Disney plans live-action Winnie the Pooh
No, this is not a stale April Fool’s Day joke. Deadline Hollywood is reporting — in a post dated April 2 — that Disney has hired indie filmmaker Alex Ross Perry to helm a live-action Winnie the Pooh movie, which will focus on a grown-up Christopher Robin returning to the Hundred Acre Wood.
Perry is the writer-director behind “Listen Up Philip,” which is described as “a literary look at the triumph of reality over the human spirit.”
This comes just a day after word came out that there will be a live-action version of “Mulan.”
It’s pretty safe to assume that, like the live-action “Dumbo,” there will be a significant amount of CGI involved here.
