Disneyland and Disney World discontinuing Disney Dollars starting May 14
Disneyland and Disney World will discontinue the popular Disney Dollars starting May 14.
The use of gift cards have made the cash bills obsolete, according to the Orange County Register.
Even though Disney will no longer be distributing the dollars, they will still be accepted because they do not expire.
Disney Dollars were first used at Disneyland May 5, 1987 and Oct. 2, 1987 at Disney World. Disney Stores started using the bills in 1992.
The bills, in $1, $5 and $10 denominations were even created with anti-counterfeiting measures.
