To get a real feeling of how large the new building being constructed for the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster being built at Epcot in Disney World, I would suggest a close-up look.

If you happen to end up parking in the Explore section of the parking lot, follow the walkway down to the Imagine parking lot as you head to the park’s entrance and you will come upon the large ride building under construction.

This structure is so large that Disney has said it can contain four Spaceship Earths.

The new Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster will be a more than a roller coaster, it will be a “storytelling coaster,” Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek has said.

Normally the ride vehicles usually are designed to do nothing but sit people forward. However, on this ride, “each individual cab will be programmed to direct your eye to the story happening around you. This means that instead of “whizzing by the action you’ll be fully immersed in the story from the minute you launch,” Chapek has said.

The attraction is scheduled to open in 2021.
