Jungle Cruise boat sinks at Walt Disney World

A Jungle Cruise boat sunk at Walt Disney World today in a shallow part of the attraction around noon, causing water to enter the boat, according to guest on the boat.

“We went from floating to sunk in about a minute,” Matthew Vince said in a post on Twitter.

“The water in the boat was about a foot and half,” he said. “Everyone was fine and we were rescued in about 20 minutes.”

The passengers were all able to get off the boat safely and no one was transported to a hospital, Reedy Creek spokeswoman Eryka Washington told the Orlando Sentinel.

The Magic Kingdom ride, according to the My Disney Experience app, was closed until about 2 p.m.

The boat, from the photo, is the Bomokandi Bertha. In 2004, the Sankuru Sadie sank after taking on more water than it could hold.

This is a developing story. We will update this post as more information becomes available.
