Closing dates announced for 2 Disney Springs establishments

A Disney Springs restaurant and an athletic store will be closing in the coming week.

Bongos Cuban Cafe, owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, will close on Aug. 18, 2019. The restaurant, which has been around for 22 years, was one of the first celebrity-owned concept restaurants to open. Over the years the Bongos restaurants that were opened have all closed.

Estefan is opening a new restaurant called Estefan Kitchen in the Margaritaville Orlando Resort.

A new Beatrix restaurant is expected to open Disney Springs. Owned by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (a Chicago-based restaurant group), the restaurant will be a combination coffeehouse and grab-and-go market featuring healthy food options including vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan along with fresh-squeezed juice cocktails.

Curl by Sammy Duvall, which opened in 2016, will close on Aug. 15. The surf shop, located on the West Side, offers a variety of surf, ski and skate gear, swimwear, apparel and accessories.  The Ron Jon Surf Shop will soon be opening at Disney Springs.
