Photos: Guardians of the Galaxy coaster construction update

Scaffolding is going up on the exterior of the Guardians of the Galaxy show building, the old Universe of Energy at Epcot in Walt Disney World.

The ride building that took up part of the parking lot in Epcot has been enclosed for a while as the coaster track is being placed inside the building. Now, it looks like more work is going to start soon on where guests will enter.

Workers were seen putting up scaffolding and examining the roof.

The new coaster, scheduled to open in 2021, will be the largest indoor coaster of its kind in the world. The former Universe of Energy building is now gutted and will most likely be used for the queue, pre-show and ride loading area. Here’s a look at the construction taking place.
