Disney World testing smart speakers at Yacht Club Resort

Disney World is starting to test the use of smart speakers in guest rooms at the Yacht Club Resort.

Some guests are being randomly selected to use the Google Home Smart speakers during their stay. The speakers can be used to access information about their vacation.

More people are purchasing the speakers for their homes, so the integration into a guest stay seems to make sense. The speaker will allow the guests to access weather reports, Disney World park hours and bus information.

In October, Disney and Random House teamed with Google to add an interactive soundtrack to the Little Golden Books series. So you can now read along with Disney to hear music and sound effects on certain books. The speaker is also capable of playing a number of games with kids.

The speaker does have a potential to not only inform, but also entertain guests while in their room a bit easier than having to surf the channels on the room TV.
