Aerophile balloon at Disney Springs closed in preparation of Hurricane Irma

The Aerophile tethered balloon at Disney Springs is being shut down temporarily in preparation of Hurricane Irma.

The balloon, which rises 400 feet in the air to give a 360-degree view of Disney World, will be closed from Sept. 6 until Sept. 14, 2017.

While the storm is not predicted to start impacting the Orlando area until Saturday, it does take some time to secure the balloon and then get it operational again.

Disney World is otherwise operating under normal conditions, according to its website.
