Disney events happening in June

There are a number of things happening in June inside the Disney Parks and outside the parks to take note of, including a movie, registration for a marathon and a new exhibit in Boston
June 3, 2015: World Oceans Day is celebrated at Disney World.
June 16, 2015: Registration opens for The Star Wars Half Marathon at Disneyland from Jan. 14 to 17, 2016
June 19, 2015: Disney-Pixar’s “Inside Out” is released. The movie focuses on Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. “Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school,” according to the movie’s description.
June 23, 2015: The next Legacy Collection CD is released, featuring the 20t anniversary of “Pocahontas.” The CD features the original soundtrack, plus tracks which tell the story behind the music. It will feature newly created artwork from inspired by the original films.
June 28, 2015: The Museum of Science in Boston will host the world premiere exhibit of The Science Behind Pixar this summer. The 10,000 square foot exhibition has more than 40 interactive exhibits demonstrating the science, technology, engineering and math concepts behind the artists and computer scientists at the animation studio. “The Science Behind Pixar is a behind-the-scenes look at how our movies are made,” Ed Catmull, president of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios said in a news release. “It’s a great demonstration of how much creativity and imagination is involved in the science, technology, engineering, art and math thinking essential to our filmmaking process.
